SYM's answer to the TMAX
The SYM TL 508 ticks all the right maxi-scooter boxes, great weather protection, loads of storage with an aggressive look and sporty feel.
Powered by a 508cc in-line twin-cylinder engine that produces 47 HP at 6,750 rpm and a torque of 50Nm at 6,250 rpm. The engine is one of the biggest and most advanced in the current SYM range, boasting reverse balance shafts and four-valves per cylinder and DOHC and Liquid Cooling.
Chassis spec is also a high spec affair, with USD forks, a linkage mounted rear shock and four-piston radial calipers up front.
Dominating the cockpit is an impressive TFT/LCD full-colour dash, providing the rider with speed, RPM, engine temp and a whole host of other information.
The MaxSym TL is one of the best value big scooters on the market, with a price tag of £9299, making it significantly cheaper than Yamaha’s TMAX, which comes in just short of £13000, which is a considerable amount more for a very similarly specced Maxi Scooter.
The larger SYM models have been absent from the UK for some time, mainly due to Maxi Scooters not being massively populer over here. However, due to the current fuel price, the idea of a large comfy armchair on wheels packed full of gadgets and tech with excellent weather protection, great MPG, easy parking and enough performance to make you smile, Maxi Scooters may start to increase in popularity.
